Undiscovered potential hotspots of Ebola

A model was developed to identify potential carriers of filoviruses. This was done using an algorithm that analyses traits of filovirus-positive bat species in order to identify hotspots where those species co-occur around the world.

This information can be used to prevent future outbreaks of Ebola viruses in humans and other vulnerable animal populations:
